The Onion AV Club is recapping TNG episodes. Too awesome! Except that reading them leaves me jonesing for TNG.

In one of the comment threads, someone mused that "there isn't a catch phrase for the opposite of jumping the shark, the point where a show suddenly becomes good." And someone else replied: "Yes there is - it's called 'Growing the Beard'." HA. That moniker warms the cockles of my geeky little heart.

Related to the recaps, have you run across Wil Wheaton's "Memories of the Future" (which does, indeed, cover (granted only the first half of the first season of) TNG in pretty much exactly that way, accompanied by cool moments from behind-the-scenes on those episodes)? Worth taking a look at.
