Jul. 10th, 2005 10:34 amI am a few lines away from page 175. Should be able to crank out 5 more pages today. 180 would mean a mere 60 pages to go!!! This is slightly behind schedule but still (hopefully) on track for the end of August, especially since I have set aside the first week of August to sit and decompress and just breathe before the whirlwind of back-to-Ontario and school preparations blows in. If I have to I will write like a crazy woman instead. I get bored with just breathing very quickly anyway.
Plus I think I've figured out ways to solve a couple of problems that were bugging me in previous chapters...nice to know that stupid apparently unsolvable dilemmas can resolve themselves if I throw up my hands and leave them alone for a few weeks. Ohhhhhhhhh I might finish this yet, god damn it! Hear me roar!!!
Also if I stay on track time-wise I will be just in time for all the hallowe'en haunted tours of various places. My next project will be a ghost story, and I need material. I love ghost stories in all shapes and varieties - the tricky thing about writing one is that you need an angle, because there are already so many ghost stories out there that it's easy for them to fall into the groove of same-old, same-old and lose their scary punch.
I am soooooo looking forward to the fall. Everything seems to be coming together and falling into place. I think I am happiest when I have a frajillion balls in the air all at once. I just have to keep from sabotaging myself by worrying.
