Jan. 17th, 2007 07:00 pmSweet merciful crap. I think I may have just gone and done something stupid. My french placement tester, to my very great surprise, decided I should be in the preparation for level C course. The catch is that said course runs 9-12 AM both Saturday and Sunday. And, well, I went and signed up. God damn it. There go my weekends from now till mid-April. I don't know what else I could have done, though - if I make it to the language testing on one of these competitions and miss that B again, I will screeeeeam.
On a happier note, while at Algonquin I stopped by Home Depot, where the seed display is out once again. Woohoo! So my first gardening shopping trip of 2007 yielded:
* scarlet runner beans - thinking I may send them up a trellis on the shed that backs into our yard, it's nice and sunny there
* poppies
* matthiola - must find a way to plant these closer to the house this year so as to get full enjoyment of the smell
* steeple bells (campanula pyramidalis) - nice and tall and don't mind the shade
* cosmos
* morning glories - planning to try these in a few different locations, now that the squash will be elsewhere
* scarlet flax
The matthiola is the only thing I will get to plant ahead...more digitalis and jacob's ladder, too, if I want to get flowers again next year. Oh, and I want to find more of those gigantor marigolds that flowered like crazy right through till November last year.
