May. 6th, 2007 04:09 pmThe Habitat Hustle was a great success - lovely walk, good company, and $300 raised, so w00t! I also poked around the ReStore and found four large old wooden windows which I could not resist buying, as they were only $10 apiece. My evil scheme is to refinish them, put stained glass in them, and stick them together so as to turn them into a room divider. Meanwhile they will help me wall off another 1/4 of the second bedroom, which I am annexing for badly needed workspace. Won't get around to rearranging all that until June, but in any case, this is the plan.
Spent a whole pile of money today on new clothes - more than I should have, probably, but since I barely have enough that fit to get through a work week, I consider the expense justified.
Used up the last of my solder supply doing the pine tree, and the car, while not completely dead, is not particularly trustworthy, so restocking will have to wait. Meanwhile I have a sun and moon suncatcher waiting to be cut out, and an ivy mirror to design and start cutting. Once I get the drawings off my desk at work I will start working on the art nouveau roses, too.
I got an email from Art in the Park showing my actual location at the event. Four weeks to go! In this time I plan to make:
Mirrors (to date: 6 done, 1 almost done)
* climbing ivy
* art nouveau roses
* abstract wheat
* leaves
* seashells
Panels (to date: 10 done)
* penrose tiling
* edwardian rose
* massive cattails
Suncatchers (to date: 8 done, 1 almost done)
* sun
* moon
* art nouveau daffodils
* leaves
* "rounded corners" quilt square
* leafy vine (vertical w/ wire)
Off to make lunch and design stuff on the patio...
