Sweet, sweet SPACE...the final frontier
Jun. 30th, 2007 02:05 pmI was up at a ludicrous hour this morning for no particular reason. This is OK, though, because I have been mad productive: the two mirrors are cut out, all my errands are run, my hair is cut, and I have blown a STACK of cash. Oops. Well, so now I'm taking a break while pasta cooks. My mission for this afternoon: start rearranging the second bedroom so as to get workspace!
* Tall bookcase contents will go on bracket-hung shelves above futon, and tall bookcase will go out
* Corey's computer, which he has almost entirely ditched in favour of school-provided laptop, will get stowed in a corner to keep the wireless running, while monitor will get stowed in storage; workstation will get moved to the other side of the room so I can co-opt it for glass
* Files will come off my computer and the machine will get Craigslisted for $50 for a week or two before going to the Trailing Edge as scrap; workstation will be co-opted for glass
* Two matching ratty bookcases will move to sit beside the futon where Corey's workstation is now
* Skinny table will either go to Goodwill or will sit next to the stairs and hold tchochkes, depending how much space it takes up
* Black chair...no idea yet what to do with the black chair...
Basically this will move all the bookcases over to one side of the room, leaving me free to annex the other side with all my co-opted desks. Best of all, the window would also be part of my domain. Ventilation - eeeeexcellent. I just need to find a way to extend my screen so the cats can't get in. And also how to sustain the guest bed functionality of the futon, since space is going to be a little tight with half the room effectively gone.
So to accomplish this scheme, I still need:
* cheapie shelving - will hit Crappy Tire on Monday, probably
* a patio stone to sit the kiln on - if not available at Crappy Tire, will certainly be available at the Rona next door
Man, I yearn for a house with an entire room I can dedicate to my various forms of insanity. Then I wouldn't have to worry about the cats, I would just keep the door shut.
