Nov. 13th, 2008 05:56 pmI had the random commute from hell this morning. You know how you park in a driveway and drive on a parkway? Yeah, well today the parkway was aptly named. Getting from Lebreton Flats to my parking spot took AN HOUR. It usually takes me 20-30 minutes to get from door to door.
Turns out the source of this insanity was that Wellington was blocked off at Lyon. Why? Because somebody called the police over two "suspicious packages" left outside the Bank of Canada, which led to blocking the road, quarantining the people who had touched the packages, the whole nine yards. On my way home CBC reported that the "substance" in the packages was non-toxic and inert, but apparently the police have declined to comment further. Personally I suspect some sort of stupid overreaction to something perfectly routine.
Tonight I believe I will make beefy stroganoffy goodness to have with pasta and then spend the evening foiling over stupid TV while Corey is at taekwonl33p.
