May. 17th, 2010 09:55 pmYesterday morning the Zoodle and I went for a walk while Corey was in the shower. She toddles along quite easily holding onto one hand, so hand in hand we went around the corner and up to the bike path, and from there across the park lawn and down to the very edge of the river.
And everything there just enchanted her. The river slooshing on the ground at her feet occasioned a shriek of delight. She picked rocks up and put them down, and tested her strength on a couple of really big ones, and I showed her how you can throw them in the water. She said "rock", and "grass", and "splash". We got our toes wet and she focused with hilarious intensity on splashing her feet around.
It was pure magic. Seriously. When Corey and I used to talk about having kids in this neighbourhood, this is exactly the kind of thing I was dreaming about. We'll have to go to Mud Lake next and see if we can find some frogs.
