1. You do not like people cutting through your yard. If you were to pull out the ultimate weapon against trespassers, would it involve A) Zombie watchdogs, B) Robots, C) Pirates, D) Elves (of the mean & cruel kind, not the Keebler elves kind), or E) some eldritch combination thereof?
I have to say E, because I am torn between zombie watchdogs and robots. Zombie watchdogs because I always love the spooky stuff, and robots because I totally want my very own cylon army! Ooh, ooh, I know - I'd have cylons with the ability to summon zombie watchdogs! Yeah!

2. You are super-crafty and I generally stand in awe. What is your favourite project that you've completed, and what is the most ambitious project that you have in mind to do someday?
Hahaha, why thenk yew :) So far I think the bindweed mirror was my favourite, because it was the biggest. Despite my inexpert tackling of a project that turned out to be way more insanely complicated than I had imagined, it turned out looking pretty awesome. Most ambitious for the future? Hmmm. I'd like to do an actual window someday, or a door. I'd love to learn how to make the window or door to put the glass in. And how to work in wrought iron.

3. What's the thing you miss most about Montreal? What's the thing you're happiest about in Ottawa? (ok, so that's two questions, but they're kind of related)
Two things are tied for what I miss about Montreal: (a) the incredible variety of delicious world cuisine available within 15 minutes walk or 45 minutes delivery, and (b) the summer events (jazz festival, fireworks competition...and also the mountain, even though it's not an event, so gorgeous!) and living so close to them. My plan is to make a point of going back for those every summer. In Ottawa I'm happiest to have a social life again, although our current abode and the slightly less francophone work environment are close in the running.

4. I see that you subscribe to the xkcd feed. I sometimes think it's funny when I see it out of context, but generally don't know what to make of it (I think I fail to get it sometimes). What do you like about it?
I think a lot of the reason this comic so often tickles my funny bone is the fact that I am married to a math geek. When the joke is bound up in nuances of math and programming, I don't get it either, but when it's describing the foibles of math geeks, I totally recognize it, and somehow it's the recognition that makes it funny.

5. What author(s) do you think that your own writing most resembles (either intentionally or not)?
Um. You know, I have no idea. I can't read my own stuff straight at all. Somebody else might be able to tell me that - I'd be interested to know, actually - but I have no clue. In recent memory when I've tried to follow the footsteps of something by writing, it's been a hodge-podge of scary movies, not books.

If you want to be interviewed, tell me and I will ask you questions.

In other news, I loooooooooooooooooove Battlestar Galactica. So very much. It makes me happy inside. This last episode, all about one of my very favourite characters, came damn close to making me cry. And there were all kinds of hints and suggestions of UTTERLY AWESOME shit they might be up to now. What a great show.

Anyway, 7PM means glass time, so off I go!
