Had fabulous cathartic and decompressing drinks with amazon_syren last night. Came home and nail-polished/foiled away my Strongbow buzz, so today I was able to solder one side of the Two Trees mirror. The results don't 100% match the image I had in my head - the solder lines came out a lot thicker than I was expecting; I probably should have used narrower foil - but nonetheless I am pretty happy with it. Coolest unexpected effect is that if you look at yourself in all the bits of mirror between the bare branches, your reflection is not only fragmented but all the fragments are out of kilter with each other. Awesomely appropriate, really.

Tomorrow is date night - sushi and silly TV shows. Corey does martial arts, art class, and yoga, with occasional road hockey thrown into the mix; between his crazy projects and my crazy projects, all of which occupy different times of the day and week, sometimes it feels like we don't see enough of each other these days. Quality time is a good, good thing.

I write more gov't tests on Monday. Well, that's something, I guess. It's hard to get excited about making it to the next step when you know perfectly well you won't hear a thing about the step thereafter for months. Ugh. Discouraged on that front right now. I have no idea how anybody manages to make it into that system, I really don't.

One...more...freaking...week of February and the armpit of the year is over and I won't have to deal with it again for another 11 months. At least we're out of the deep freeze for now...knock on wood. XP
