Jul. 14th, 2007 08:41 pmAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Sweet accomplishment.
After zipping out to Timmy's (bad, bad, bad habit - they put crack in those icecaps, I swear!) and to Canadian Tire, where I picked up a new display tent to replace the hellaciously orange one, we buckled down and started cleaning the hell up around here. It took the whole day and some help from my mom, who provided moral support, laundry folding, and ironing. BUT we are now down to one more load of laundry, a few stray scraps of clutter on the bed and dresser, a footstool-full of stained glass supplies to put away, and the kitchen table to clean up. Mold has been beaten back, dry cleaning has been taken out, crappy electronics have been recycled, clothes have been sent to the thrift store, important papers have been organized, taxes are assembled, ALL the laundry is put away, the bathroom linens have been washed, books are (mostly) back on the shelves, and Stratford Festival program covers are finally on the wall. Thank god for the cleaners, I have to say, because I shudder to think what this task would have been like if we hadn't been at least half-assedly tidying up once a month so they could do their thing. And we don't have to do any of the sweeping, mopping and scrubbing because they'll be here again next week. WORTH EVERY PENNY.
And I love my mom. My god. Someday when I have kids I hope I am half that awesome.
