Mar. 13th, 2009 10:02 amCalled the OBGYN's office this morning to find out when my 6-week postpartum checkup was scheduled. Answer? Yesterday. Doh. And now they can't fit me in until the end of April. Well, back to my family doctor I go. I've had a speedy and pretty seamless recovery, really, so I don't think it should be a big deal to not go to the specialist, although there were a couple of things I wanted to ask her about.
Chief among these was future prospects for vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC). I am not at all sure I want to go there; labour was a pretty miserable experience, and the c-section and recovery therefrom was surprisingly not.
( Here's what happened... )
I get that c-section has its risks, but if I am told with any strength at all that repeat c-section is my best option, I don't know that I'll be inclined to argue, particularly since I only plan to have one more child. I am not so much interested in going through all that again just to end up in the OR again anyway.
