Tonight, I won the weed battle. The war is ongoing. Man do I ever need mulch. I am on a mission to eradicate the long purples after making the mistake of letting them go to seed last year - they're EVERYWHERE now. Also mowed the lawn, which was a grim spectacle, and planted the seedlings. Another rhododendron is almost blooming, third rhododendron shows no signs of blooming but is making new leaves like crazy, foxgloves are also almost blooming, newly planted Veseys lilies are coming up, likewise bleeding heart...ZOMG the garden is going to ROCK this year!! Pictures to follow tomorrow evening, hopefully, when it will be nice and sunny and I will plant the seeds.
Also attempted, with much hassle, to set up the gazebo, which turns out to be much too large and much too flimsy for our small and often-gusty yard. Dammit. So, back to the store it goes, and I suffer wet patio cushions and a tableful of maple helicopters for a while longer.
It has now been (knock on some SERIOUS wood here) almost five weeks since there was evidence of an idiot incursion. I think our fence might have finally defeated them! Winter will tell for sure, but I haven't seen anything disturbed or the vegetation trampled down. Fingers crossed!!!
And now for stupid TV and cookie dough. Sweeeeeet.
