Heeeeeheehee! I am now home from getting my hair dyed and it is AWESOME. I tried to take pictures but they just do not adequately capture the neon-ness of the highlights. I will wait till sunlight and try again, although it's a shame because I doubt I will be able to replicate the punkass style, even with the expensive products I was suckered into buying. Well, I spent enough $$ on this, I might as well attempt to make it look its best, right?
In other news of the awesome today, I went to see the studio space I inquired about. It's about 30 seconds walk from home, in a tumble-down old house in the village that this lovely lady has bought and has just started fixing up. How's that for a great way to use a tumble-down old house? It's going to be lovely when she's through with it. I still have to ask about whether I can wash chemicals off into the bathtub and what kind of circuits the upstairs is on, such that I won't blow the whole fuse box by attempting to run the kiln. The space is worth more than I would really be able to justify, but she's willing to let me have it for half price until there's more demand for it. I have to say I'm gravely tempted. It's not a ton more space than I have now, but I wouldn't have to put screens up or worry about the cats, and the lack of distraction would mean I'd get more done. She suggested an initial three-month lease as a trial period, which definitely sweetens the deal; that's not much more than I'd pay for an art-related course. On the other hand, it's not like my current space isn't functional - maybe I'd be better off just socking that extra cash into the house fund. Must think about it.
There is also awesomeness in my inbox! I am, for instance, scheduled to work August 8 and August 18 on the Habitat Women's Build in Stittsville! Sweet! Apparently there was huge volunteer interest in this one so I am pretty freaking lucky to be in on it. According to the schedule they sent in May, August 8 is interior framing - SWEET - and August 18 is windows, doors, and siding. Can't wait!! And I have gotten an invitation to the Watson's Mill christmas craft show in Manotick. Aaaaaaaaaaaand I have a pretty awesome spot for UrbanArt!
And to top it off tomorrow is my friday, since I am taking two beautiful, beautiful days of VACATION TIME to get ready for UrbanArt.
Now I just need to get my ass to bed in time to not be a zombie tomorrow...

Tuesday/Thursday = blank, but I'm trying to get a Bernadette appointment booked on one of those days, so they'd best stay blank for the time being. :-)
What works for you? :-D
(Also: Congrats ont he studio-space! :-)
