I've been reading Charles Stross's Bob Howard books - The Atrocity Archives and The Jennifer Morgue - and they have, in manner quite delightful, warped my fragile little mind. They're this inimitable combination of James Bond, Dilbert, and Cthulhu, all wrapped up in snarky British IT-geek-speak. The idea is basically that magic works through math and electricity - hence, through computers and electronics - and the main character is an agent of the secret government agency that keeps tabs on things occult...except, like government agencies everywhere, it is riddled with bureaucratic stupidity.

iclysdale and sinvokasha, you in particular SERIOUSLY need to check these out if you haven't already.

Heh, James Bond, Dilbert, and Cthulhu all in one sounds pretty awesome alright. :) I'll have to try to find time to check these out at some point.
