Plumber dude comes tomorrow morning! This should tell us one way or another whether we can afford to forge ahead with our kitchen craziness. And if the answer is yes, then I get to start cudgeling my brains about who exactly we should hire, oh joy.

We have attempted to give the Zoodle carrots and sweet potato this week. The carrots were, to put it optimistically, an EXTREMELY qualified success, in that she did actually swallow a spoonful or two; the sweet potatoes, on the other hand, garnered what looked very much like a shudder of revulsion. Well, we'll wait a few days and try again, I guess. Maybe I should try mixing them up with the rice cereal.

Curious about baby food; are you making your own or are you buying bottled stuff? Would making your own in the blender be easier/taste better than the jars? Is there nutritional stuff that you would be forfeiting by doing that?

(Seriously honestly just curious, not trying to be obnoxious.)

Making our own, so far, except for the rice cereal. Yay food processors! I'm not altogether sure of the benefits of this, except for not having to scan labels for milk ingredients. I guess it just makes me feel virtuous ;) Hey, I have to make up for eating a whole box of fudgeeos last night somehow...

Do you have one of those little hand grinders? I used to babysit for a kid whose parents had one. It seemed pretty convenient because they could just throw in whatever they were eating and make into mush (and thank god because this child had the most sensitive gag reflex I've ever seen, I think he once threw up 3 times at one meal).

Also, no one needs to make up for eating fudgeeos...I'm pretty sure it's actually a mitvah.

Nah, just a plain old food processor, which is a bit of a pain to clean, but also swift with the mush-making.

re. fudgeeos - lol! Corey says "well, they are pareve..."

Oh and I don't think there's actually any nutritional benefit to the jars, it's just a labour-saving thing, and they keep longer. Baby food makers are actually under substantial pressure, I think, to keep their ingredient lists as simple and "natural" as possible.
